This short post will share some ideas on how you can use the Halloween fact families: addition & subtraction worksheet in your classroom or home to practice math!

What are fact families?

In math, a fact family can be defined as a group of math facts or equations created using the same set of numbers. The fact family shows the relationships between the three numbers involved. In addition and subtraction fact family, there are four addition and subtraction sentences created using three numbers.

When do we use fact families?

We use fact families to practice the learned content or help children understand and practice the connection between addition and subtraction. It also helps them memorize the basic addition and subtraction facts.

How can you use this worksheet:

  1. Count the Halloween pictures;
  2. Name the Halloween sight words;
  3. Spell the sight words;
  4. Read the numbers;
  5. Use the photos to add;
  6. Use the photos to subtract;
  7. Write the solutions in the blanks;
  8. Write the solutions in words (one, ten, nine);
  9. Wipe off the marker with a cloth pad/sponge and save for revision!
